A slide needs to be straight, round, parallel and on the same plane. If there is a problem with any of these your slide will not function at it's highest level. John can repair most slides to make them play to their potential. Sometimes parts of the issue and John can replace them if necessary.
Sometimes the only thing standing between the player and the instruments potential is a bad leadpipe. Often they are damaged in cleaning. John can remove your existing leadpipe and add a ring to allow it to be removable allowing you to try other pipes. Some leadpipes are stubborn and a choice needs to be made weather to save the leadpipe or the inner tube.
Modern instruments are getting heavy, especially bass trombones. This leads to wrist and tendon issues that can make playing difficult. I've helped many players with issues holding their instruments. Some are a simple bending of a lever to make it fit their hand better, others require new levers, changing the location of the lever saddles, moving a bell brace or adding a counter weight.
If for any reason you want the wrap changed on your instrument John can do it. John can also replace your old rotors with your choice of newer rotors, Axials or Hagmanns. If you want it, John can also add a second valve to your single valve instrument.
Some instruments have a noisy linkage that can be updated with nylon ball and sockets. This makes the instrument much quieter, the repair more cost conscious, and more often than not a shorter throw.
Yes - John can take out a dent or dents, change a water key spring or cork, help with cleaning and maintenance, slide repair and alignment.
